David Mordecai was the Company's founding partner.


Born in 1943, David began his insurance career in aviation broking with Leslie & Godwin, in 1959. He made the transition to the marine market in 1966, and worked with William Richards & Son (now Richards Hogg Ltd. as part of the CTC group) and Manley Hopkins, Son & Cookes, for ten years, before joining Mediterranean Average Adjusting Company, as a partner, in 1976. Five years later, in 1981, the partnership was dissolved and Maritime Adjusting Services came into being. David retired at the end of September 2017, having acted as a Consultant for the firm since August 2008.

 


Ian Tucker
 joined the partnership in 1993 and his breadth of experience and professional qualifications make him an indispensable member of the company. 

Born in 1953, Ian began his career with the Eagle Star Insurance Company in 1969. From the Eagle Star he moved to Blue Star Line, where he gained an invaluable insight into the day-to-day operations of a leading Shipowner. He entered the Average Adjusting profession in 1972 and spent the next 21 years with Messrs.William Elmslie & Son and Messrs.E.R.Lindley & Sons, before moving to Maritime Adjusting Services.


Ian Tucker is a Fellow of the Association of Average Adjusters, an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (A.C.I.I.) and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (M.I.C.S.)


Christopher Dorling was a founder-member of Maritime Adjusting Services.


Born in 1957, Chris has been in Average Adjusting for all of his working life. He joined Messrs.Manley Hopkins, Sons & Cookes in 1975, from where he left to join David Mordecai, at Mediterranean Average Adjusting Company in 1977. In addition to London, he has worked for the company in Greece as well as in the United States of America.
